"30/30 Challenge" update

Well we're coming up on our first week of our 30/30 challenge!
As many well intended plans do, mine went a little awry! On Thursday, day 2, we found it necessary to go on a road trip to Vancouver Island. Sketching in a moving vehicle doesn't make for great art (or even not so great art!!) Those first two days on the road amounted to no sketching!! So on Saturday when we arrived at our destination I revised my schedule and completed two 30 minutes sessions. On Sunday, I was able to complete 1 x 30 minute sketching session and the second was in 2 x 15 minute sessions. I'm back on track!

Lesson learned: accept that sometimes life gets in the way of our plans, stay flexible, revise, and carry on!

We're still away but at least staying put for the next two days so I won't have any difficulty getting my sketching time in. On Wednesday we're back on the road and heading home, I won't freak if I'm not able to draw as planned, but instead I will stay open, finding an alternative means of completing my goal.

I will update you on my fellow "Challengers" progress on Thursday, but from what I've heard it sounds like they are doing well and excited about what they have already accomplished!

Being flexible is a very good lesson to remember! I was busier this weekend than I wanted to be and didn't get as much accomplished as I had planned..sigh. But! It was a good weekend anyway. :)

So often I get discouraged when life gets in the way of my goals.
I need to remember your great idea - stay flexible!
